Second order non-linear periodic systems driven by the ordinary vector p-Laplacian with a non-smooth, locally lipschitz potential function have been studied. The approach is variational and it is based on the non-smooth critical point theory. The existence and multiplicity results under general growth conditions have been proved on the potential function. The existence of non-trivial homoclinic (to zero) solutions has been established. The theorem appears to be the first such result (even for smooth problems) for systems monitored by the p-Laplacian. In the last section the scalar non-linear and semilinear problem has been examined. The approach uses a generalized Landesman-Lazer type condition which generalizes previous ones used in the literature. Also for the semilinear case the problem is at resonance at any eigenvalue.

A kind of group suitable for cryptographic applications: the trace zero subvariety has been presented. The case of trace zero varieties constructed from genus 2 curves over prime fields has been discribed in detail. The curve is considered over an extension field of degree 3 and one performs Weil descent from its Jacobian to the prime field leading to a variety of dimension 6. The trace zero variety is a subvariety thereof. As a group it is isomorphic to a subgroup of the Jacobian of the original curve. For appropriately chosen parameters it is as secure as Jacobians of curves of genus g ≤ 3. Its main advantage is that the complexity of computing scalar multiplication is lower than on other curve based groups. This is achieved by making use of the Frobenius endomorphism. Thus the trace zero subvariety can be used efficiently in protocols based on the discrete logarithm problem.

For some important Banach spaces, M₁ and M₂ are different. The notion of topological centers over the Banach spaces have been extended. Z₁(X^**) and Z₂(Y^**) have been defined for certain dual Banach spaces. The properties of Z₁(X^**) and Z₂(Y^**) have been studied. It has been shows that X^** = Z₁(X^**) if and only if M₁ = M₂ and in this case, the usual criteria cited for Arens regularity of M involve iterated limit conditions.

The search effort is reassigned in an iterative process till the insurgents are captured eliminated. The factors that would affect target presence probabilities have been discussed and how this data could be used for making such searches more efficient and effective.

This assumption is debatable. So Goyal's model to extended to the case that the retailer's storage capacity is limited. Two theorems present solution procedures to locate the optimal cycle times of the annual total relevant cost function. The inventory model generalizes that of Goyal. Numerical examples are given to illustrate all the limited storage capacity theorems in the paper.

Numberical calculations have been made to obtain for R₂<60>O the variation of critical values of Rayleigh number R_c with Taylor number T and magnetic force number Q. For R₂<62>O the minimum values of Rayleigh number for non-oscillatory unstable modes along with their growth rate and wave number have also been obtained for different values of T and Q.

The unsteady free convective heat and mass transfer flow of a viscous fluid through a porous medium in wavy channel has been analysed. By using a perturbation techniqe the equation governing the flow have been analysed for variations in different parameters. The rate of heat transfer is tabulated for different variations.

The effect of nouniform temperature on convective heat and mass trasport through a porus medium has been analysed in a horizontal constricted channel. The coupled equations govern the flow are analysed by using perturbation technique. The velocity, temperature, concentration and the rate of heat transfer are discussed for variations in the parameters.

In any organization, the exit or wastage of personnel is very common. The exit of personnel in marketing organiation is very frequent, especially when policies regarding incentives, targets are revised. Two univariate recruitment policies are considered and a mathematical model is constructed for each policy under the above setup. Explicit expressions for the long-run average cost for these two policies are obtained. For a better understanding the models, numerical illustrations are given after assuming specific distributions.
