Employing Blot's theroy, propagation of longitudinal shear vibrations in an infinite hollow poroelastic circular cylinder is investigated. Considering the boundaries to be strees free, the frequency equation is obtained using analytical model based on Biot's theory of wave propagation in liquid saturated porous media. Two limiting cases of ratio of wall-thickness to inner radius of hollow poroelastic cylinder are considered, i.e., when these ratios are too small and too large. The first limiting case corresponds to models of thin poroelastic shell and plate, while in the second limiting case modes of a poroelastic solid cylinder and poroelastic bore in an infinite poroelastic medium are obtained. The nom-dimensional frequency as a function of ratio of wall-thickness to inner radius is calculated for two prorelastic materials. The results are displayed graphically and then discussed. By ignoring liquid effects, result of purely elastic solid are obtained as a special case.

By the results of Golod-Shafarevich and Vinberg-Gaschutz, the 2-class field tower of an imaginary quadratic number field K is infinite if the 2-rank of the ideal class group of K is greater than or equal to 5. In our earlier paper, we examined the case where the 2-class rank of AT is equal to 4, and proved that the 2-class field tower of K is infinite if K has only one negative prime discriminant, except for one type of Redei matrix of K. In this paper, we investigate the case where all the prime discriminants of K are negative, by classifying the Redei matrices of K.

The structure of statistical state spaces in the classical and quantum theories are compared in an interesting and novel manner. Quantum state spaces and maps on them have rich convex structures arising from the superposition principle and consequent entanglement. Communication channels (physical processes) in the quantum scheme of things are in one-to-one correspondence with completely positive maps. Positive maps are not completely positive do not correspond to physical processes. Nevertheless they prove to be invaluable mathematical tools in establishing or witnessing entanglement of mixed states. We consider some of the recent developments in our understanding of the convex structure of states and maps in quantum theory, particularly in the context of quantum information theory.

These results imply that the long-lived right (left) eigenstates of the non-unitary propagator are concentrated in the semiclassical limit h- 0 on the backward (forward) trapped set of the classical dynamics. On this support the eigenstates display a self-similar behaviour which depends on the limiting decay rate.

The boundary layer flow due to a plate stretching with an exponential stretching velocity distribution in the presence of magnetic field has been studied. Upon introducing a special form of magnetic field, the governing steady boundary layer equations for an electrically conducting Newtonian fluid has been first reduced to similarity equation. First, perturbation solutions for the case of large magnetic parameter have been derived. An accurate expression for the approximate skin-friction co-efficient has been derived in terms of magnetic parameter. To obtain the accurate skin -friction coefficient Crocco's transformation technique is used. Finally, a direct numerical solution of the resulting similarity equation has been obtained using a Runge-Kutta Shooting algorithm with Newton iteration in double precision. The influences of the magnetic field on the velocity and skin-friction co-efficient have been analyzed in this discussion.

The analytical solution of resulting ordinary differential equations has been obtained in terms of repeated integrals of complementary error functions. They are in good agreement of exact solutions. Graphs showing variations of velocity, temperature and concentration, for different values of Schmidt number, Prandtl number, suction/injection parameter and chemical reaction parameter are plotted, and the results of them are discussed.

In the study, the standby unit can work for a certain time period and come to downstate even without failure. Pajankar and Khot [2] assumed a system with two units which stop it's working due to some failure. This failure of the units causes the failure of the complete systems due to some unknown reasons. They studied the system and designed a model for its reliability. Here, we considered a system with non-similar and non-identical units causing sudden failure due to an unknown reason. This sudden failure can occur in the system which causing the total system failure. The failed unit(s) of system may be repaired. The model is analyzed using various reliability measures of the system.

Obtains a radiating dyon solution in (n+2)-dimensional spherically spacetime. We discuss the nature of the singularity by analyzing the equation of the outgoing radial null geodesies. It is found that singularities in higher-dimensional spacetimes are naked. And final fate of gravitational collapse of radiating dyon solution is independent of choice of equation. Thus we generalize our previous studies to the case of (n+2)-dimensional spherical spacetimes and will show that previous results for gravitational collapse, obtained in four-dirnensional spacetimes are also valid in (n+2)-dimensional spacetimes.

A set of six invariant solutions for non-conformal perfect fluid plates in 5-flat form is obtained using one-parametric Lie group of transformations. Out of the six solutions so obtained, three are in implicit form while the remaining three could be expressed explicitly. Each solution describes an accelerating fluid distribution and is new as far as authors are aware.

In this paper, the problem of unsteady MHD Stokes flow with heat and mass transfer of a non-Newtonian field of type Bi-viscosity is considered. A uniform magnetic field is assumed to be applied perpendicular to the wavy surfaces. The equations governing the fluid flow have been solved analytically under low Reynolds number assumption. Expressions for the velocity, the temperature and the concentration have been obtained and showed graphically for various values of physical parameters of Interest, such as the magnetic parameter M, the permeability parameter K and the upper limit of apparent viscosity coefficient.

The existence and linear stability of equilibrium points in the Robe's restricted three body problem have been studied after considering the full buoyancy force as in Plastino and Plastino and by assuming the hydrostatic equilibrium figure of the first primary as an oblate spheroid and the second primary also as an oblate spheroid. The pertinent equations of motion are derived and existence of all equilibrium points is discussed. It is found that there is an equilibrium point near the center of the first primary. Further there can be one more equilibrium point on the line joining the centers of the primaries and infinite number of equilibrium points lying on a circle in the orbital plane of the second primary provided the parameters occurring in the problem satisfy certain conditions. So, there can be infinite number of equilibrium points contrary to the classical restricted three body problem. The circular points are unstable and the equilibrium points lying on the line joining the centers of the primaries are stable or unstable depending upon the parameters of the problem satisfying certain conditions.
