Three different forms of teh discrete model are given and their equivalene is proved. It is also shown how the continuous time models can be derived.

The stochastic modeling and analysis of a Tippler-conveyor system of coke & coal chemicals area of integrated steel plant has been dealt with. In Intergrated Steel Plant, coke oven area comprises of several batteries and have been dealt with these batteries are consisting of several coke-ovens. Generally a single battery is having 65-67 coke -ovens, in which raw coal is charged to get rectified coke in return. The Tippler-Conveyor system is the starting point of coke-oven area. Coal is unloaded with the help of tipplers from wagons. After crushing, it goes to coal stock yard through conveyor belts. Three tipplers with-two conveyor belts each in standby configuration are present in the area. The tipplers with two conveyor belts each are categorized into three sub-systems schedule maintenance and running maintenance are performed for each of the sub-systems. Besides regular repair, emergent repair is also performed. Also, failures are categorised into two modes - (i) Electrical failure (ii) Mechanical failure. Failure time distributions of both the units are taken to be negative exponential, whereas repair and maintanance time distributions of tippler are taken to be arbitrary and repair time distribution of conveyor belt is taken as negative exponential. Using regenerative point techineque, several system characteristics which are useful to the system managers and and designers are evaluated. Some graphs are plotted in order to highlight the important results.

Of the total time utilized in various activities for bovine keeping in rural areas, woman contributed about 25% to 35% and remaining by men and children. They were mostly engaged for milking, feeding and stall cleaning almost throughout the year. Woman labour input (assuming 8 hours of work per day as norm) was 84 to 92 days in the rural areas of Haryana, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan; 100 days in Maharashtra and 76 days in Andhra Pradesh. Time utilized was comparatively more in landless households and small holdings. As the size of holding increased, household woman labour decreased. A traditional division of labour exists within the households particularly with respect to animal husbandry activities. Livestock keeping is one enterprise, which can provide gainful employment to rural women in their households. There contribution needs to be measured accurately.

The status of development of different districts of Assam has been estimated with the help of composite index based on optimum combination of forty-eight developmental indicators. The data on various socio-economic indicators of the year 2001 for different districts have been used in the study. The level of development is separately estimated for agricultural sector, industrial sector, infrastructural facilities and overall socio-economic sectors. The district of Sonitpur is found to rank first and the district of NC Hills is on the last position in the overall socio-economic development. There is positive significant association between the levels of development in agriculture and socio-economic fields. Wide disparities in the levels of development have been observed in different districts of the State. For bringing about uniform regional development in the State, model districts have been identified and potential targets for various indicators have been estimated for low developed districts.

When the cumulative loss of manpower on successive occasions crosses the threshold level, the breakdown of the organization occurs which in turn leads to recruitment. The interarrival times between successive decisions are assumed to be correlated random variables. Under such an assumption the expected time to recruitment and its variances are obtained. Numerical examples are supported.

Some results such as homomorphism, homeomorphism and topologically isomorphism are investigated on the Hausdorff spaces Rⁿ and R.

The data requirements and gaps of agricultural statistics in compiling the national accounts has also given. The quality aspects of the agricultural statistics have also been highlighted.

The unsteady free convection flow of a second order visco elastic Rivlin - Erickson incompressible fluid in a channel bounded by two infinite parallel porous plates has been discussed. One is kept at rest and the other moves with a uniform velocity. The fluid is subjected to oscillatory suction under the influence of a uniform transverse magnetic field. The boundaries are maintained at different uniform temperatures. The governing equations are solved using perturbation method to obtain the velocity, temperature and the skin friction. Their behaviour for variation in the governing parameters has been discussed computationally.

Let G be a graph with γ vertices and ε edges. G is said to be magic if there exists a bijection f: V ∪ E → {1,2,3 ....,γ+ε} such that for all edges xy, f(x) + f(y) + f(xy) is a constant which is denoted by c(f). Such a bijection is called a magic labeling of G. A magic labeling f of G is called a super magic labeling if f(V) = (1,2,3....γ). The super magic strength of a graph G is defined as the minimum of all c(f) where the minimum runs over all super magic labelings of G and is denoted by sm(G). A tree obtained from a finite family of stars arranged in an array and one center of a star is joined to that of the next star is called a festoon tree. The exact value of the super magic strength of a festoon tree has been obtained.

It has been proved that arbitrary join and finite meet of θ - open sets is θ - open and defined fuzzy θ - T₂ spaces in L - topology and studied some of their properties. It has been proved that subspace of a θ - T₂ space is 0 - T₂. Product space of θ - T₂ spaces is θ - T₂ and sum space (X, θ ⊕_{i ∈ l} θ_i is θ - T₂ if and only if each {(X_i,δ_i): i ∈ l} is θ - T₂. The property of θ - T₂ is also preserved under the bijective, θ - open map.

Although cross-over designs for comparing treatments have been considered by several authors, factorial structure in cross-over designs has been studied only recently. Often some higher order interactions can be safely assumed to be zero in factorial experiments. Confounded cross-over designs for symmetrical factorial experiments with number of levels a prime or power of a prime are studied in this paper. In addition to having factorial structure, all estimable direct main effects and interactions are estimated with a constant variance in these designs. Extra-period confounded cross-over designs are also studied.
