An attempt has been made to develop a mathematical analysis for investigating the pulsatile behaviour of blood (a Casson fluid). Governing equation of the flow being non-linear partial equation in nature, it is not easily amendable for an analytic solution. To obtain a numerical solution of this non-linear equation, an implicit scheme known as Crank-Nicholson scheme is adopted. Numerical calculations have been done for various combinations of parameters i.e., the Hartman number and Reynolds number with both slip and no slip. It has been observed that the effect of Hartmann number and the Reynolds number on the velocity field is very prominent. It is also observed that the velocity profile decreases when the Hartmann number increases with both slip and no slip also. Numerical results agree well with their solution in non magnetic case. The mathematical expressions may help medical practitioners to control the blood flow of a patient whose blood pressure is very high, by applying certain magnetic field.

The results for the pressure rise and frictional force per wavelength have also been computed numerically. Several graphs of physical interest are displayed and discussed. The solutions given here in the' limit D_a → ∞ and α → 0 are similar to those given by Shapiro et al.

In this paper, removal rate and wind velocity are assumed to vary with the power of vertical height which is uniformly assumed to be 1/2. The power series technique has been applied for the solution of the problem. The model is useful in studying the effect of sink mechanism in decreasing the concentration of pollutants from the atmosphere. It is seen that the concentration profile of pollutants becomes high near the ground, but as distance from the ground (either vertical or cross-wind or down-wind) increases, the concentration profile decreases regularly.

In the present paper we obtained the curvature and Ricci tensor of the semi-symmetric metric connection on manifold with generalized structure. We also find the necessary and sufficient condition for Ricci tensor to be symmetric and skew-symmetric. Study of Nijenhuis tensor for the same connection is also the part of the paper.

The nlh derivative for the one dimensional functions is obtained by using iterative process and for each operation and each iteration the next higher order derivative is calculated. In coding the programs in C++, operator overloading is used at all the stages to get derivatives.

The unsteady MHD flow of an incompressible viscous electrically conducting fluid between two horizontal parallel non conducting plates, where the lower one is stretching sheet and the upper one is oscillating porous plate is studied in the presence of an aligned magnetic field. Fluid motion is caused by the stretching of the lower sheet and a constant suction is applied at the upper plate which is oscillating in its own plane. The stretching velocity of the sheet is assumed to be a linear function of distance along the channel. The expressions relating to the velocity distribution are obtained and effects of different values of various physical parameters are calculated numerically and shown graphically.

Author analysed the mixed convective flow of a viscous incompressible conducting fluid through a porous medium confined in the vertical channel whose walls are maintained at constant temperature and concentration. The dissipative effects are taken in to the energy equation. A uniform magnetic filed of strength H_o is applied normal to the walls. Also consider the heat generating source in the energy equation. The momentum, energy and diffusion equations are non dimensionalised to obtain the governing parameters viz, Grashoff number G, Reynolds number R, Darcy Parameter D, Prandtl number P, Heat source Parameter a, Schmidt number SC, buoyancy ratio N and Eckert number EC. The coupled governing equations have been served using a perturbation technique with EC (<60><60>1). The velocity, temperature are obtained analytically and the behaviour for different variations in the parameter is discussed computationally. The skin friction and the local rate of heat transfer are calculated numerically for variations in the said parameters.

Discusses the concept of geometry, Dfferential geometry and Finsler geometry. The axioms corresponding to which the four important Finsler connections (Cartan's, Rund's, Berwald's and Hashiguchi's connections) can be obtained, has been discussed. In the present age the models of Finsler geometry has much importance in applications. Therefore we give some special Finsler spaces which are based upon their metrics, torsion tensors and curvature tensors.

The propagation of a spherical shock wave in a dusty gas with heat conduction and radiation heat-flux, in the presence of a gravitational field is investigated. The dusty gas is assumed to be a mixture of small solid particles and a perfect gas. The heat conduction is expressed in terms of Fourier's law and radiation is considered to be of the diffusion type for an optically thick grey gas model. The thermal conductivity K and the absorption coefficient are assumed to vary with temperature and density. The total energy of the wave is time dependent. Similarity solutions are obtained and the effects of variation of heat transfer parameters, the ratio of the density of the solid particles to the initial density of the gas and the mass concentration of solid particles, on the flow-field behind the shock are investigated.

Two phase flows is an extensively studied subject in today's date. Literally speaking, the terms implies simultaneous flow of any two phases of matter, and the importance of the topic lies in various industrial applications like aerospace, automotives, nuclear applications etc. For example in the case of internal combustion engine, emission of pollutants can be curtailed by prediction of liquid spray so as to apply control over the combustion process. Some other interesting areas where two-phase flow is studied include climate systems such as clouds and groundwater flow, in which the movement of water and air through soil is studied. Today, this talk gives an overview of two phase flows which can be applied in various fields like engineering, medical and environmental science.
