In chemical plants the main components of information are stored in the form of decision tables. In the functioning of the decision tables, the output states are largely dependent on the interna states. The internal states, in general, in most of the chemical plants are too many and some of them are not compatible enough to give a proper output, resulting in loss of time, engineering cost, and damage to the very system. To overcome these problems hierarchical genetic fuzzy control algorithms are used. Operability study is a method to study the decision tables in a chemical plant. This method examines the safety of chemical plants by systematically identifying every conceivable process deviations and it can reduce the time and the engineering. The tools for the operability study are guidewords, property words and decision tables. Decision tables are a main concern in this operability study, because the decision tables govern property words and guide words. Component information is stored in the form of decision tables. HGFCA method has been described by the use of genetic algorithms to decision tables of operability study. By using HGFCA, the system performance improves with minimal valid conditions in decision tables.

Analysis for the propagation of free waves in homogeneous transversely isotropic thermoelastic plates is developed in context of generalized theory of thermoelasticity. Secular equations in closed form and isolated mathematical conditions for symmetric and skew symmetric wave mode propagation in completely separate terms are derived. Material system of higher symmetry, such as isotropic and cubic, is contained implicitly in the analysis. It is shown that the purely transverse motion (SH mode) gets de-coupled, which is not affected by thermal variations, from rest of the motion of wave propagation and occurs along an in-plane axis of symmetry. The results for isotropic materials, coupled and uncoupled theories of thermoelasticity and at short wave length are also deduced as particular cases at various stages of this work. Finally, the numerical solution for transversely isotropic plates of solid helium and zinc materials is carried out and dispersion curves for symmetric and anti-symmetric modes are presented and illustrated graphically.

Ordinary differential equations (ODE) occur in several branches of science and technology. One example may be study of particle interaction in electrorheological fluids. These are fluids whose properties change when they are exposed to an electric field. These fluids have important application in many fields, automotive industries in particular. Calculations of interations between particles suspended in fluid are carried out through the solution of ODE with regular singular point. Series solutions to such problems provide highly accurate results if a large number of terms in the series expansion are included. Based on this, several routines, to be used as a package in computer algebra system Maple, are developed to solve the linear homogeneous ordinary differetial equations with a regular singular point. These fast and efficient algorithms show significant improvements over existing routines in terms of memory and computational time requirements. The present algorithms provide the correct answer for many diffeerential equations much more efficiently. Using these tools, a large number of terms in the series expansions can be included to get highly accurate solutoins of ordinary differential equiations.

The outer surface of the limb has been assumed to be exposed to the environment and the inner core is at a known variable temperature. The variational finite element approach has been employed along all the three dimensions. The numerical results have been computed to obtain temperature profits along radial and angular directions. This study has significant clinical relevance such as thermographic applications.

An analytic solution is presented to a two-dimensional steady-state non-Gaussian dispersion model obtained by following the variational imbedding approach. The solution has been obtained as the limit of a sequence of approximate polynomial solutions of the advection diffusion equation in which the downwind speed and the diffusivity are assumed to have the most general functional dependence on the local pollutant concentration. The source term for the onset of dispersion is taken to be the prescribed ground level concentration which in turn depends on the ratio of vertical height and depth of the momentum boundary layer. The dispersing pollutant is assumed to remain confind in the momentum boundary layer bounded by the impermeable ground surface and the upper zero-flux edge of the boundary layer. Particular cases arising rom the suitable choices for the functional form of ground level concentration are considered to examine the non-Gaussian effects. Plume descriptors, constituting the first four moments of the non-Gaussian concentration profile, are also obtained to analyse the statistical behaviour of the plume.
