The computational algorithms for these kinds of optimal control problems are described as well as the analysis of the result of the test example. The traditional problem solving in searching optimal control policy is replaced by computing the optimal switching times of the control in the algorithms. While the control switches in the optimal time intervals, the system reaches the optimum.

After the first move, the center of the ball always remains very close to the boundary (hugs it in fact), and hence these versions behave like other boundary algorithms such as the simplex algorithm in terms of exponential complexity in the worst case a new gravitational method that behaves like an interior point method has been discussed.

Real and complex matrix-variate analogues of these results are given in Mathai (1997). Recently, the last author in a series of lectures on Dirichlet models examined some extensions in the real scalar variables case. One such extension of the type-2 or inverted Dirichlet model is examined here when the variables invoved are real symmetric positive definite matrices. Several interesting properties are obtained which will be usefull in Statistics, Econometrics, Theoretical Physics, Engineering problems and other areas. Some interesting matrix transformations and the associated Jacobians are also discussed in this article.

The procedure of eastablishing the existence of the eigen-pair is by finding a fixed point of certain equation, which suggests interative refinements for yielding the required eigen-pair, and establisheds that the perturbed eigen-pair is simple as well. The method adopted here is in variant with a procedure of Stewrt (1987) and also simpler than the analysis carried out recently by Varadharaj (2003).

The problem of local asymptotic stabilization of nonlinear control systems has been discussed. Some basic fundamental problems of asymptotic stabilization, in the critical cases, can be studied by using the topological methods pioneered by Brockett and Krasnoselskii (1983). The main results has been illustrated with some classical examples. Next, using index theory, a necessary have been illustrated condition for local asymptotic stability of equilibria of continuous-time nonlinear systems with parameters has been derived. As a corollary of the general result, Brockett's necessary condition for local asymptotic stability of equilibria of nonlinear autonomous systems has been reduced. It has showed by way of an example that the new necessary condition is not implied by Brockett's necessary condition, but it retains much of the user-friendly appeal of Brockett's condition. The main result has been illustrated many examples from bifurcation theory for flows. The result has been illustrated for continuous-time nonlinear systems to derive a similar result for discrete-time nonlinear systems around equilibria.

Author has introduce a notion of a coring structure with an approximate counit on a Hilbert C^*-module. Author has shown a relation between coring structures on a Hilbert C^* -module of compact operators on a Hilbert apace and operators of the underlying Hilbert space. Author has also obtained a relation between a multiplicative unitary operator and coring structures on the Hilbert C^* -module.

A short survey of the theory of spectral gaps is presented by going through various aspects and problems of this challenging area of spectral theory of self adjoint operators on Hilbert spaces. Apart from quoting some of the major theorems in this area, an asymptotic linear algebraic approach is also highlighted which leads to a number of interestign questions. A couple of new results are also presented towards the end.
