A geometrically simple parabolic weir in the form of a semi-circular weir of radius R has been presented. It is shown that the weir can be utilized with a simple head-discharge relationship of discharge proportional to the square of the head for all heads reckoned from datum or reference plane situated at 0.02R below the crest in the range of 0.25 R ≤ h ≤ R, within a maximum percentage deviation of ± 2% from the theoretical discharge. Experiments with a typical weir are in good compliance with the theory by giving a constant average coefficient of discharge of 0.636. The importance of the weir with its simple profile as a outlet weir in the triangular grit chamber is highlighted.

Paper is concerned with the design of a practical parabolic weir of a simple geometric shape, having a triangular weir of top width '2w' and vertex angle '2θ', over which a rectangular weir is fitted at a depth 'd' over the weir crest. It is shown that the flow through the above weir is proportional to the square of head 'h' measured from the datum or reference plane stuated at 0.155w above the weir crest for all flows in the range 0.56w ≤ h ≤ 1.95w within a maximum error deviation of ± 2% from the exact theoretical discharge. The shape of the weir has been chosen such that the flow when enters from base weir to top weir will change its head discharge relationship from Q ∝H^5/2 to Q ∝H^3/2, during which it has to cross the head-discharge relationship Q ∝ H², which is the desired one. General numerical optimization technique in which the non-linear programming is converted to a linear one has been developed to obtain to get the head-discharge relationship -with a maximum proportional range. Experiments with a typical weir have given excellent results yielding a constant average coefficient of discharge for each weir. The regular parabolic weir with a complex shape can be replaced with the designed wier which can produce a near parabolic head-discharge relationship within an acceptable percentage error of 62 from the theoretical discharge. The weir is practically useful as a Grit Chamber outlet of trianglar channels wherein an average constant velocity has to be maintained irrespective of fluctuations in head above the crest for a fixed range of discharge. Further, the weir will also be helpful in natural triangular channels, in flow measurement and sedimentation (silt deposition on upstream of the river due near constant average velocity), thereby delivering silt-free water on to the down-stream side of the weir.

Further it is proved that if N is a strongly regular near-ring with identity which statisfies a.c.c. on ideals then M (N) is compact and N is an a.c. near-ring and the family of sets (h (a)/a ∈ N} is a base for the oepn set of M (N).

Aim of this paper is to introduce two new classes of mappings called fuzzy regular semi-generalized continuous mappings and fuzzy regular semi-generalized irrsolute mappings. Some preservation theorem are also studied. Introduced regular semi T 1/2 space and study its characterization. The relation with other fuzzy mappings and that of frsg-continuous and frsg-irresolute mappings are investigated.
