The study reveals that Dalbergia sissoo, Alizia lebbeck, Centaurium centauriodies are much larger species with 100% frequency. Dalbergia sissoo and Albizia lebbeck are found in abundance with highest density followed by Ficus glomerata, Terminalia arjuna, and Tectona grandis.

The territory of Kazakhstan lies mainly in zones of deserts and semideserts. Soil degradation is all over the territory as a result of human intervention in vegetation. The representatives of Chenopodiaceae Vent. genus (Haloxylon aphyllum Minkw., Haloxylon persicum Bng.) are natural sandbinders in northern deserts of Kazakhstan. This article concerns adaptation traits of plants of drought stress. The article states the anatomical and morphological characteristics of representatives of Chenopodiaceae family: Haloxylon aphyllum, Haloxylon persicum. It was identified that there are similarities and differences in the anatomy of the stem of both species. The main difference is the number of layers of the epidermis: one layer in Haloxylon aphyllum, 2 layers in H. persicum, size of epidermis, chlorenchyma, parenchyma. Comparative characteristics of the two species of Haloxylon show some features of adaptation of psammophytes (Haloxylon persicum) and halophytes (Haloxylon aphyllum). Increased size of epidermal tissue and chlorenchyma of Haloxylon persicum stem, as well as increased size of parenchyma and crystalliferous cells of Haloxylon aphyllum.. Features of the anatomical structure of the vegetative organs of plants adequately reflect their adaptation to growing conditions. Studied species are plants-C4, by type of CO2 fixation, as a mechanism of adaptation to hot and dry climate. Haloxylon persicum is regarded as a genetic derivative to H. aphyllum.

Antioxidants play crucial roles in preventing lipid peroxidation and removing free radicals. Antioxidants protect against free radicals and they are therefore essential in obtaining and preserving good health. Sesamum indicum L. (Black Sesame) seed is one of the most important oil seed crops in the world. It has been cultivated for centuries, particularly in Asia and Africa. Folk knowledge suggests black sesame is an indispensable ingredient in a therapeutic tea to stroke victims. The main of the study is to evaluate the antioxidant capacity of aqueous seed extract of S. indicum. In vitro antioxidant properties of the extract were analyzed by DPPH, OH radical scavenging, reducing power and Inhibition of lipid peroxidation assays. All values were expressed as Mean±SD of two measurements. Comparison between standard and extracts were performed by using students't' test. The Seed extract tested, showed good radical scavenging, reducing property and lipid peroxidation activity. Further in vivo studies are required for the clarification of aqueous seed extract in the human disease management.

Analysis of the leaf extracts using various solvents like ethanol, methanol and ethyl acetate carried out to detect the presence of active components. Qualitative analysis was done for various constituents like alkaloids, anthra quinones, anthocynosides, carbohydrates, cardiacglycosides, flavonoids, phenolic flavonoids, proteins, phlobatannins, saponnins, tannins. The phytochemical screening revealed the presence and absence of all the above chemicals in the extracts of the species of Cassia.

The Present study summarizes the biosynthesis, characterization and optimization of auxins by Piriformospora indica and its effect on the growth of Solanum melongena L. cultivars. The biosynthesis of auxins was greatly influenced by the addition of tryptophan. Based on the data obtained from traditional one factor at a time method, optimization was carried out using the response surface methodology taking into account three significant variables viz. tryptophan concentration, pH and trace element solution. The optimized value of Indole 3 acetic acid and related indolic metabolites was observed to be 7.39 mg mL-1 with 0.2 g of tryptophan, pH 8.5 and 200 μl trace element solution. The Presence of auxins was, confirmed by UV visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy. Mass spectroscopy analysis confirmed the presence of Indole 3 acetic acid and related indolic metabolites. Pot studies depicted a significant effect of auxins on both the cultivars of Solanum melongena L.

Gynandropsis pentaphylla, an erect rather showy glandular, pubescent annual medicinal herb, micropropagated via organogenetic and embryogenetic routes of culture. The floral segments were aseptically placed on the initial medium (MS, 1962) supplemented with various growth regulators. The explants remained quiescent for 1 week and thereafter started callusing from each flower bud of the inflorescene on MS + BAP (4 mg/l) + NAA (1 mg/l) and on MS + BAP (4 mg/1) + IBA (1 mg/l). Maximum number of cultures showing shoots was achieved with Kn (2.0 mg/1) + TDZ (1.0 mg/l) + IAA (2.0 mg/l). Developing shoots were first observed on late torpedo stage embryos as a pair of cotyledon-like outgrowths from the surface of the hypocotyl, and subsequently elongated as an apical meristem with leaf primordia. On younger embryos, similar proliferation produced globular somatic embryos with 2-celled-suspensor.

A pot experiment was conducted to determine the effects of varying Cr (VI) levels [0.0-4.0 mg Cr (VI)/kg soil in the form of potassium dichromate] on the activity of antioxidant enzymes and their metabolites in sorghum. The present investigation showed that the enzyme activity of peroxidase, ascorbate peroxidase and their metabolites in leaves and stem of the plant at different growth stages i. e. 35, 70 and 90 days after sowing (DAS) were adversely affected with an increase in Cr (VI) levels from 0.0 to 4.0 mg Cr (VI)/kg soil. A significant decrease in the peroxidase activity and increase in ascorbate peroxidase activity was observed with increase in chromium concentration in the soil. The increase in activity of peroxidase consumed hydrogen peroxide and thus it resulted in decrease of hydrogen peroxide content, while due to decrease in activity of ascorbate peroxidase, ascorbate content get increased by Cr (VI) application.

Out of these trees make the highest number of ethno-medicinal plant (11 species) followed by herbs (6 species), shrubs (4 species) and climbers (2 species). This paper also focuses specially on seed oil utilized by the tribals and non-tribal communities of the district to cure various diseases. The plant species are arranged alphabetically as per their botanical name followed by family name, local name along with mode of use.

There are 26 families of halophytes species in Iran and more than 70% of them has belonged to the Chenopodiaceae family. The leaf of halophytes has been used as a medicine for hepatitis and antiviral activity. The young leaf of it often mixed with other vegetable to reduce their saltiness. Elemental food composition data are important for both consumers and health professionals. Literature survey revealed that no investigation has been done on Suaeda Vermiculata grown in the Hormozgan province by now. The aim of this study was determination of proximate composition, mineral elements contents in this endemic Iranian seed. S.vermiculata were collected in August 2014 from Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province, Iran and samples was identified by R. Asadpour and voucher was deposited in the Herbarium of Faculty of Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences Branch, Islamic Azad University (IAUPS).Concentrations of some elements containing Na, K, Li, Se, Cu, P, I, Mg, Ca, Al, B, Mn, Fe and Zn were analyzed in S.Vermiculata samples by atomic absorption spectroscopy by standardized international protocols in Research Laboratory in Pharmaceutical Sciences Branch, Islamic Azad University. Obviously in S. vermiculata, the amount of the mineral element contents are high in comparison by other seeds studied in other countries, even the value of potassium, iron and Manganese in S. vermiculata grown in Hormozghan were ten times higher than seeds grown in Bushehr as different region of South of Iran. In this study, the nutritive value of S. vermiculata seed native to Hormozghan province in the south of Iran was determined and results revealed that it is so rich in mineral elements especially Iron. Therefore it could be recommended as a raw material for various industries but also would serves as useful dietary supplements.

College, Bhilai Nagar, Durg (C.G.) revealed that out of 16 fungal species, for namely : Aspergillus niger, Pestalotia machrotricha, Chaetomium globossum, Curvularia lunata and Candida albicans shows 60% to 80% frequencies. On the other hand Aspergillus fumigatus, Bipolaris sorokinimanum and Cladosporium herbarum shows least frequency. Variation in fungal population and the degree of their frequency varied according to the seasonal changes, climatic factors and geographical areas.

Baccaurea ramiflora Lour. (Roxb.) Muell. Arg. is an underutilized juicy fruit bearing plant found in sub-Himalayan area, South China, Indo-Burma region, etc. The fruit is considered to be nutritive, and in this study, we evaluated its antioxidant, haemolytic and cytotoxic properties. The juice was examined for the quenching activity of hydroxyl radical, nitric oxide, singlet oxygen, peroxynitrite, total antioxidant activity (TAA), erythrocyte membrane stabilizing activity (EMSA) along with quantification of phenolic and flavonoid contents and also tested for its potential activity as iron chelator, inhibitor of lipid peroxidation and total reducing power. Principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) were also performed to correlate antioxidant capacities with the phenolic and flavonoid content. Haemolytic activity on murine erythrocyte and MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) cytotoxic test was performed on murine splenocytes, thymocytes, hepatocytes and peritoneal exudates macrophage to examine the cytotoxic effect of its juice. High percentage of early sprouting of rooting, Number of primary roots, length of roots and number of leaves per cutting have been successfully recorded by application of IBA at 1500 ppm under mist condition. Effect of Azospirillum sp. strains was studied individually (A1, A2, ..., A10) and in combination treatment (A2 + A4 + A6 ; A2 + A5 + A6) on wheat variety (Lok-1) in Randomize Block Design (RDF) in triplicates. The observations on root length and leaf area (cm2) attributes were recorded at periodical intervals to evaluate effect of treatments and RDF. Combination treatmets significantly increased root length and leaf area (cm2). Judicious application of Azospirillum sp. supporting higher yields with long term improvement of soil fertility and reduce dependence on the inorganic fertilizers.

Influence of VAM on growth and nutrients of cluster bean was studied in unsterile soil. VAM species used were Glomous austrak, G. bagyarajii. G. fasciculatum and G. mosseae singly and in combination. Maximum dry wt. 0.153g, number of seeds 6, Plant height 18.8, number of leaves 18.5, number of fruits 11 and length of fruits 5.4 was recorded in G. fasciculatum. Fresh fruit wt 0.786 g. was in Glomous mosseae, N 1.12%, P2O5 0.11% and K2O 0.29% in mix treatment of all four VAM. Mg 0.20% in Glomous fasciculatum, and Cu 36 ppm and Fe 519 ppm highest in Glomous austrak. From this experiment it can be concluded that AM fungi can be used as biofertilizers for better growth of cluster bean.

The seed germination is poor and vegetative propagation is slow, In vitro culture based micro propagation technique has been successfully used for rapid & mass propagation of medicinal plant. Media containing MS basal salts with GA3 and BAP, sucrose and agar, 72% germination was observed. Same chemical treatment was carried and they were germinated in field. The germination percentage is equal to in vitro condition also.

The article provides an overview of information on the two invasive species of Siberia that are weeds of crops - Malva verticillata L. and Vicia hirsuta (L.) S.F. Gray. It provides information on the distribution of species, morphology, biological and ecological characteristics. Active ability of Vicia hirsuta to spread with the seed of oil plants and honey plants was revealed. The possible consequences of the introduction in natural plant communities are shown. The possibility of the practical use of these species as fodder, food and medicinal plants is considered.

The present study was carried out to determine the accumulation of phenol and flavonoids in four safflower cultivars infected by Alternaria carthami. Phenol content decreased in infected leaves of cultivars Nari-38 and Nari-6 as compared to that in healthy leaves while it significantly increased in the infected leaves of Nari-H-23 and Nari-NH-1 as compared to healthy leaves. Flavonoids slightly increased in all cultivars under the influence of the disease. The findings revealed that Nari-H-23 was more resistant as compared to other cultivars against Alternaria carthami.

The chemical composition of plants of amaranth belonging to various species is determined genetically to a great extent. The concentration of mineral nutrients in amaranth tissues may influence the quality of food and fodder raw stuff. We studied the potassium and nitrate concentration in the tissues of the plants of four amaranth species grown in Western Siberia in similar rainfed conditions. We suggest using the ratio "potassium concentration/nitrate concentration" in the biomass of the plants under study as an additional indicator of their nutritional properties. The content of potassium in A. hypochondriacus and A. tricolor dry weight was about 900 mEq/kg, in the tissues of A. retroflexus - 600 mEq/kg, in the tissues of A. cruentus - 455 mEq/kg. The maximal value of the mean nitrate content in dry matter for A. cruentus was 105.9 mEq/kg. The content of nitrates in A. tricolor tissues was 80 mEq/kg, and in A. retroflexus tissues - 40 mEq/kg. The minimal content of nitrates was registered in the sample of the dry matter of the plants of A. hypochondriacus - about 24 mEq/kg. The ratio "potassium concentration/nitrate concentration" in the plants of A. hypochondriacus ran up to a multiple of 45, in A. retroflexsus - 16.4, in A. tricolor - 10.8, and in A. cruentus - 4.5. A. hypochondriacus has the highest feeding value compared to other amaranth species, with soil conditions being similar, without watering and fertilizers. The indicator "potassium/nitrate" can be used for express assessment of amaranth nutritional properties.

Centella asiatica (Lin.) Urban is synonymously known as Mandookaparni or Indian pennywort and an important medicinal plant. It is mostly used in pharmaceutical industry because in the presence of many bioactive compounds and their demands are increasing day by day. But its propagation rate is very slow and low amount of bioactive compounds. According to this, the market demand of superior plant materials of Centella asiatica for its commercial cultivation is increasing greatly. Therefore, in the present study, an attempt has been made to standardize a protocol for rapid shoot multiplication from leaf explants of Centella asiatica. For in vitro shoot multiplication on MS medium supplemented with combine and individually in different concentrations of IBA and Kinetin. Finally, it observed that the maximum shoot multiplications (17.72 ± 0.86) were obtained on MS basal medium supplemented with IBA (1.0 mg/l) and Kinetin (3.0 mg/l). Kinetin was found more superior and effective than IBA on supplemented individually in MS medium for shoot multiplication.

The district is comprised of three sub division including seven reserve forests and more than twenty five grazing village forests. These forests were richer in different types of wild edible fruits. But due to anthropogenic activity and industrial extension forest areas are decreasing rapidly and important diversities are disappear from the area. Extension activity of small tea growers and ONGCL drilling operation and setup of GGS inside the forest areas are mainly responsible for extinction of these important wild edible fruits plant. During the study recorded 43 such fruit plant species from different location of the district. Out of these 8 species are endangered, 4 rare, 6 vulnerable and 25 species considered as threatened e.g., Baccaurea ramiflora, Artocarpus chaplasha, Caesalpinia bonduc, Canarium benghalense, Citrus grandis, Diospyros embryopteris, Flacourtia cataphracta, Garcinia pedunculate, G. cowa, G. lanceifolia, G. panuulata, etc. Therefore, an attempt has been made to assess the present status of these wild edible fruits of the area and recorded plant species from different location of the district. Because this is the high time to conserve these species in situ or ex situ condition.

To study Genotypic and Phenotypic correlation and path coefficient for seven characters were studied in 34 different local genotypes of Ashwagandha. Results indicated that root yield was significantly and positively correlated associated among themselves except root branches with seed yield. Path coefficient analysis showed highest positive direct and indirect effect of plant height and stem branches on root yield. Indirect effects of other component characters were high through plant height and stem branches on root yield. Selection for high plant height and stem branches appeared to be useful for improving root yield.

College, Bhilai Nagar, Durg (C.G.) revealed that out of 16 fungal species, five namely : Aspergillus sydowi, Aspergillus niger, Fusarium oxysporium, Penicillium sanguifluum and Mucor globosus were common in both ground as well as first floor. On the other hand Aspergillus fumigatus, Bipolaris sorokinianum, Curvularia lunata and Candida albicans were restricted to ground floor while Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus terreus, Rhizopus nodosus, Chaetomium globossum, Pestalotia machrotricha, Alternaria alternata and Cladosporium herbarum were restricted to first floor. These confinements of fungal species depend on floristic pattern-of the area, which varies from geographical area to area.

The macro fungi were extracted with petroleum ether, chloroform, methanol and distilled water for 10 hour using a Soxhlet extractor apparatus. The phytochemical screening performed by Harborne (1998), Sofowora (1982), Brindha (1981) and Trease & Evans (1985) method. The phytochemical analysis revealed that the extracts were rich source of phytoconstituents viz, saponins, steroids, cardiac glycosides, terpenoids, Flavanoids, taninnes and alkaloids. The extract could be potential source for traditional medicine, Mushroom are gradually attaining popularity in our food system even at commercial level and its biochemical constituents have also been explored showing important phenol compound terpenoid and flavonoid as evidence of antioxidant property. So it is need of the time to evaluate phytochemical properties of mushroom especially for those by society for nutritional and pharmaceutical use.

The importance of plants in treatment of human ailments can't be ignored as plants harbour an inexhaustible source of active ingredients used to combat diseases. Enterobacter aerogenes causes disease in humans through inadvertent bacteria transfer in hospital settings. Infants, the elderly, and those who are in the terminal stages of other disease or are immunosuppressed are prime candidates for such infections. The present study aims at analysing antibacterial potential of different plants viz. Alhthaea rosea, Calendula officinalis, Nelumbo nucifera, Nerium indicum, Chrysanthemum indicum, Rosa indica and Michelia champaca against human pathogenic bacteria Enterobacter aerogenes. Fresh and dried plant parts in aqueous, alcoholic, chloroform and petroleum ether extracts were tested by disc diffusion method, for their antibacterial ability against Enterobacter aerogenes. All the plants were effective against tested bacteria but dried root extract (Chloroform and Petroleum Ether extract) of Calendula officinalis exhibited maximum antimicrobial activity.

The present investigation was conducted during Khari/2008 and 2009 at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology-Meerut to find out the combining ability effects in bottle gourd to identifying desirable combiners. The experiment comprising 24 hybrids obtain by crossing using 11 parents (eight lines viz. C-29, C-37, C-74, C-78, C-4, C-55, C-34, C-26 and three tester viz., C-12 (Azad Harit), C-21 (PSPL) and C-35 (KLG). The observation were recorded on days to germination, days to fruit setting, fruit length (cm), fruit diameter (cm), number of branches per plant, vine length (m), number of seeds per fruit, number of fruits per plant, days to maturity, fruit yield per plant were worked out through line x tester analysis. On the basis of general combining ability effect parent C-78 and C-37 were found best general combiner for fruit yield per plant along with other yield components and specific combining ability effect reflected that the cross combination namely C-29 X C-12, C-78 X C-21 and C-74 X C-12 were found best combining for fruit yield along with other components.

Centetta asiatica (L.) Urban, commonly known as Brahmi or Indian Pennywort, is highly valued for its glycosides (triterpenoids), asiaticoside and madecassoside. In the present investigation, an attempt has been made to induce autotetraploidy in this valuable medicinal plant, employing colchicine. Young developing shoots of C. asiatica were treated with different concentrations of colchicine for varying time intervals. It was found that treatment with 0.2% colchicine for 4 hour at room temperature was very effective in inducing autotetraploidy in Centella. The induced autotetraploids were bigger in size and possessed large leaves with big but fewer stomata and thick petioles. They showed two fold increase in fresh and dry weight of the leaves, and double the chromosome number as compared to control diploid plants.

Varieties, location, composition of soils, usage of fertilizer and irrigation affect the fatty acid, mineral and vitamin composition of hazelnuts, and consequently influence the nutritional value and quality of the product. Pot experiment was conducted using two contrasting chickpea varieties, viz., Pusa 362 (Desi type) and Pusa 1108 (Kabuli type) with the objective of optimizing dose of bio-regulators namely thiourea (TU), benzyladenine (BA) and thidiazuron (TDZ). Varying doses of foliar application of TU (0, 500, 1000, 1500 ppm), BA (0, 20, 40, 60 ppm), TDZ (0, 10, 15, 20 ppm) and salicylic acid (0, 50, 100, 150 ppm) were applied before flowering stage. Rates of photosynthesis were recorded at flowering and podding stages and seed yield was obtained at harvest. The results revealed that photosynthetic rate in both varieties increased with increasing doses of bio-regulators at both flowering and podding stages and grain yield also exhibited similar trend. Highest photosynthetic rates and grain yield were recorded with the foliar application of TU, BA, TDZ and SA @ 1000, 40, 10 and 100 ppm, respectively. After curve fitting, optimum dose for TU, BA, TDZ and SA foliar application were estimated to be 878.33, 52.75, 11.78 and 90.63 ppm, respectively.

One of the alternative methods adopted in recent years is to use biotechnological approaches for improving the tree species. A proficient protocol for encapsulation of nodal segments of Artocarpus lakoocha Roxb has been developed for plant regeneration through non-embryogenic synthetic seeds. Concentrations of sodium alginate and calcium chloride greatly affected morphology and texture encapsulating gel. 3 % sodium alginate with 100 mM CaCl2 has been found to be best possible concentration for the production of identical synthetic seeds. 25 days old in vivo plantlet of A. lakoocha was used for obtaining nodal segments, used in all experiments. Five experiments were performed using MS medium (agar solidified and liquid) supplemented with 1, 3 and 5 mg/l BAP. Concentration of 1 mg/l BAP was observed to be more effective for achieving highest regeneration frequency in comparison to other concentration of BAP (3 and 5 mg/l). In third experiment only different strength of MS medium was used, in last two experiments nodal segments prior encapsulation and encapsulated nodal segments were given pulse treatment with (IBA)for 48 hours and concentration of 3 mg/l BAP was observed to be most effective for synthetic seed regeneration . Data were recorded after 4 weeks of culture.

Role of endogenous IAA and zeatin level in regulation of cell division and endoreduplication processes was studied in quiescent center cells of Allium cepa using colchicine by considering morphological and cytological parameters. This resulted in formation of c-tumor at root tips, which contained endoreduplicated cells. Different concentrations of NAA and BAP (1-250 μM) were exogenously applied to these endoreduplicated root tips to depolyploidize endoreduplicated quiescent center cells. Exogenous NAA treatment showed negative response on depolyploidization of quiescent center cells of root tips. However, elongation of cells, and decrease in nucleus size was observed after exogenous NAA treatment. There was no change in length of endoreduplicated roots, and growth of root at the tip of c-tumor. Exogenous BAP showed positive response in depolyploidization of quiescent center cells of root tips. There was remarkable increase in length of roots, growth of root at tip of c-tumor and decrease in cell size and nucleus size after BAP treatment. It induced cytokinesis process in endoreduplicated meristematic cells and started cell division and differentiation process in quiescent center cells. Endogenous IAA and zeatin measured from normal, endoreduplicated and depolyploidized quiescent center root tip cells suggested that when endogenous IAA/zeatin ratio is high in meristematic cells then cell cycle shifts towards endoreduplication process but when it decreases cell cycle shifts towards cell division process.

Homeopathy is becoming legitimate medical system than conventional system of medicine by it's two principle-"Similia Similibus Curantur" and "Law of minimum dose". The treatment of disease is primarily based on characteristic symptoms of patient. About 2500 plant species are known to be useful for medicinal preparation of different kinds. Over 300 plants are now traditionally used drug sources in homeopathy. A checklist of 107 plants species belonging to 51 families and 102 genera used in homeopathic medicine is described and discussed. Maximum number of plants have been recorded from the family Asteraceae (19 species) followed by Acanthaceae (6 species), Cucurbitaceae (6 species), Apocyanaceae (5 species), Solanaceae (5 species), Ranunculaceae (4 species), Apiaceae (4 species) and rest of the studied families contains 1 -3 species each. Some important angiosperms in homeopathy system of medicine are -1.Allium cepa L.; 2.Arnica montana L.; 3.Anemone pulsatilla Stoerch.; 4.Bryonia alba Bull.; 5.Calendula officinalis L.; 6.Cephaelis ipecacuanha(Bort.) Seeds of three forage plant species, cocksfoot, tall fescue and perennial ryegrass with good amount of dormancy were chemically treated (25%, 50%, 75% and 98% H2SO4) for different durations and exposed to different temperatures (40°C, 50°C, 60°C, 70°C, 80°C and 90°C) for varying periods with an aim to decrease seed dormancy and increase seed germination. Three groups of seeds based on after ripening period of 0, 3 and 8 months were subjected to these treatments. Immediately after harvest, germination of cocksfoot and tall fescue seeds increased by 24%, but only 13% in perennial ryegrass. Three months after harvest it was possible to increase germination by 20% (cocksfoot), 18% (tall fescue) and 6% (perennial ryegrass). Eight months after harvest it was still possible to increase seed germination of cocksfoot and tall fescue by 4-5% whereas, in ryegrass dormancy was completely lost after 8 months storage.
